Unable To Connect To E-Business Suite using jinitiator On Vista

On a vista machine running internet explorer 7 the Jinit does not work. The browser gets to the login page and then when selecting the function the jinit loads and then the browser shuts down. In Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.11 the jinit installs but everytime you go the the function page it requires the jinit to be installed again. and never gets to the functions screen.

As described in Bug 6074498 this issue is caused by bad jvm.dll file shipped with windows vista.


To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:


1. Copy the jvm.dll (C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\client) from Sun JRE 6.0 Update ( 1 -6 )or JRE 5.0 Update ( 5 - 13 )

2. Download the jinitiator through the URL,
http://hostname:port/OA_HTML/oajinit.exe

3. Install the jinitiator in C:/Program Files

4. Paste the jvm.dll into Jinitiator's hotspot directory replacing the jvm.dll after a backup
(C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.21\bin\hotspot) file.

besides other solutions for access datenbank recovery, you can get another program for the parsing of affected files
